Paul, I loved this. It’s pacing and rhythm are lively. The story starts fast and doesn’t slow down unless it needs to. The two characters are a perfect example of counterpoint. I chuckled throughout 2/3 of it, and nodded during the rest of it. Perfect reading for a Sunday night.

I'm honored, Stefan. Thank you. I think I was digging into Hemingway for the first time around when I wrote this, but I'd always wanted to tackle a confession scene. There are so many good ones in movies—but I haven't read or watched any where the characters mean a lot to each other outside of the box. I'm glad it landed for you.

It definitely did, and it should land with readers who’ve never attended a confession. The dialogue is crisp and the humour is understated, but poignant.
